About the Little Prince collection

When I was 21, I was taking a language course in French, and my brother gifted me my first Little Prince book for my 22nd birthday. The French edition. I didn't manage to get too far in the book. It's not an easy book for beginners. A few months later, I went traveling in South America. After learning some basic Spanish, I bought the Spanish edition to practice. This time, with a lot of time on my hands and more motivation to learn the language, I managed to get through the entire book. I loved it. Traveling through Patagonia, the book resonated well with the feeling of freedom and adventure. About six months later, I moved from Argentina and Chile to Brazil. By then, it was only natural that I should buy the Portuguese edition and use it as my guide in converting my Spanish to Portuguese. From then on, collecting the Little Prince book in every language I encounter became a life journey. In an era of internet and Amazon, I could have easily completed my collection with some online ordering. I decided, therefore, to set some rules for my collection. I should only buy the book in the country where the language is spoken. On each book, I dilligently write the language, the month and year of purchase, and the city and country it was bought in. Very quickly, friends and family began contributing to this collection, following the same strict rules, and the collection became a chronological story of travels, relationships and memories. For years, I have intended to build a website to share this collection and to help those friends and family traveling to new places to remember which edition they should or should not buy. Finally, it is here.
